WEEK 1 OF 2013 (in pictures)

So as I mentioned that I would embark on a Project365 during my resolutions post, here’s me with the pictures of my first week of 2013.

Les Misérables

First heard this musical 2 years back when I was visiting London. Heard that the shows always get packed and indeed when Edgar and I tried to buy the tickets to the show, only the standing spaces were left. Didn’t had the opportunity to watch it back then so when we heard that it’s gonna be filmed into a movie, I was thrilled!!

Went to the cinema to watch it on New Year’s Day and in my opinion it didn’t disappoint! As a crybaby, I obviously cried at many parts of the movie.

What touched me the most throughout the whole show was the theme of God’s grace apparent in Jean Valjean’s life. A life that he himself thought of as hopeless was a life irrevocably changed because of someone who was willing to give him a second chance in life. I pray that I’ll be able to be used by God in such a way too, that I can look pass the trespasses of others and see God’s hand at work.

Next, watching the young men fighting for revolution also reminded me of the poor Indian lady who unfortunately passed away a few days ago upon suffering under the hands of the 6 men. The young French men had to fight for their freedom to stop slavery in France and likewise the Indians are currently fighting for the rights of the ladies to be protected from rape.

I feel very blessed to be me. To be born in where I was born (Singapore :D:D). To have all that I have. To have a God that loves me so much. I have so much to be thankful for. This is such a great New Year’s Day! 🙂

Resolutions for 2013

1. keeping my room clean and tidy

truthfully speaking, i’ve been a messy monster since my teenage years. i vaguely remember being a neat freak in primary sch where i’ll be super pissed of if any of my items were not in order or if i accidentally folded a corner of the page in my book. and then once i gone on to sec sch, i stopped being neat. haha why oh why i have no idea. and it bugs me to hell everyday that my room is in such a mess. but im also kind of used to this mess. thus new year right, this bad habit of mine has to GOOOOOOOO!!!!

2. writing a journal regularly

well i think writing a journal helps to keep you accountable. yeapp… a life has to be accountable.

3.  be punctual

a friend shared with me that to be on time, is to be late. so in order to be on time, is to be early. i’ll try!

4. regular exercises

the last time i was regularly exercising was back when i was still in jc and had to have 2 sessions of 1h pe lessons each week. post jc, i lost the discipline to keep fit. haha joke of the day, i pant after climbing a short flight of stairs.

5. be friendly

i’ve been seriously lazy to interact in these few years. and i don’t like it. hopefully in 2013, ill be able to move out of my comfort zone to be a friendlier person 🙂

6. Judge lesser

Be kinder.. If I judge others lesser, ill probably judge myself lesser.. And I’ll be happier?? I hope..

7. Embark on a Project365

basically taking pictures on a daily basis to chronicle my year

stomach flewwwww

so i’m back from Taiwan.

Both mum and i had been scrambling to the toilet on the last few days of the trip as well as upon reaching back home. we both got stomach flu. probably from some unclean food that we both ate and my sis was lucky enough to skip on.

have never puked so much since from teenage days i think. interestingly while puking, this idea was conceived in my mind…..

if pregnancy morning sickness is the same as the throwing up that i had to endure yesterday, then i don’t want to be pregnant in the future! i can’t imagine how much torture i’ll have to go through daily to have a baby grow in my body. i actually shared my thought with edgar and like you have imagine, he didn’t like the idea.

im on a liquid diet, plain food diet now.. friends with 100+ and plain bread. really needing my body to recover before i fly off to Bangkok with 2 friends this coming Thursday!

As I age, I begin to treasure time with my family more.

One of my favorite things to do nowadays is to spend time/eat with my family. Unfortunately, my parents work the night shift while the rest of us kids are busy with school/work in the day. In addition to my brother being in the army, our full family time gets pretty scarce these days.

Well the contradiction in life is that when you get less of something, you begin to want it more. I guess this makes my entire family tighter and more appreciative of each other and the opportunities to enjoy each other’s presence more.

Generally been missing Edgar alot ever since we started work 3 weeks ago.. He’s been so busy with work and other commitments during the week days and so I always have an added reason to look forward to the weekend. My best kind of weekends have been these past two where we have long weekends and I try my best to find reasons/activities to meet up with him!

went to Australia for Edgar’s grad trip (specifically Sydney and Melbourne), took Scoot over which costs only $250 for a return trip. :):)
on the first day, we went to Hillsong Church / Darling Harbour

On the second day, we visited the Hyde Park / Convicts museum / Sydney Opera House

Beautiful Sunday

Hi, hi, hi, beautiful Sunday
This is my, my, my, beautiful day
When you say, say, say, say that you love me
Oh, my, my, my it’s a beautiful day

Birds are singing, you by my side
Let’s take a car and go for a ride
Hey, hey, hey, it’s a beautiful day
We’ll drive on and follow the sun
Makin’ Sunday go on and on
Hey, hey, hey, it’s a beautiful day

Hi, hi, hi, beautiful Sunday
This is my, my, my, beautiful day
When you say, say, say, say that you love me

Botanic Garden

Here are some pictures my boyfriend (Edgar) and I took while we went to the botanic gardens a few weeks back.

I like to think that I am a very funny person.

Chasing swan to give it a kiss.

Here’s Edgar hiding behind me, I think he might have been shy that day.

Not taken on the day to Botanic Garden, but proud to show my DIY flower wreath.

I like the vibrancy of flowers and though I don’t really appreciate hiking and stuffs. That trip to the botanic gardens was truly refreshing and it felt great to be walking and lying on the green grass!
